excessive underarm sweating or
axillary hyperhidrosis
Excessive underarm
sweating affects more than 2% of the population. They suffer from excessive
sweating which is almost impossible to control and which is not caused by
warmth, cold, or any other environmental reasons. This condition often
causes difficulties and embarrassment in social and professional life.
Conservative methods frequently do not help many patients who can now
benefit from the new method of suction-assisted
surgery.
axillary hyperhidrosis
sweat gland suction
At the moment the most modern and effective treatment of axillary
hyperhidrosis is
retrodermal curettage and suction.
Sweat gland suction is a revolutionary technique adapted and modified from
liposuction. On an out-patient basis with only local anaesthesia, the sweat
glands are permanently removed in a gentle, non-aggressive manner. The sweat
glands and armpits are first softened and anaesthetized with a special
solution. After a short period, the sweat glands can then be removed in a
manner similar to liposuction. Only small incisions above and under the
armpits are required to remove the sweat glands through quick suction. The
entire minimally invasive operation takes between 60 and 90 minutes.
Patients can go home directly after the procedure. Some can even return to
work after leaving the practice, although we recommend taking the rest of
the day off. Over 95% of patients report considerably less discomfort and
permanent dryness.
Since most
patients do not require a preliminary examination before the procedure, only
one visit to the practice is usually needed. The entire treatment has become
a routine procedure for our medical team. Please leave your telephone number
and we can call you back at the time you specify. We will then send you the
necessary documents by mail (explanatory materials and a consent form). On
the day of the scheduled procedure, usually only a ten-minute pre-diagnostic
conversation is required before the operation can begin. The armpit region
is bandaged after the procedure and patients need to wear a compression
bandage under their normal clothing for only seven days afterwards, allowing
a quick return to normal life. In order to prevent infection, antibiotics
are prescribed for five days following the operation. Stitches can be removed
by any general practitioner within seven to ten days after the procedure. We
maintain a twenty-four hour hotline to handle any questions or
complications.
This minor operation will change your life. Do not
hesitate to contact us by telephone or e-mail for an individual
consultation.
This procedure has also been
acclaimed by German television and newspapers.

treatment of Hyperhidrosis
An alternative to the suction
method is a treatment with botulinumtoxin. The treatment is a quick and
effective method but shows a durability of only 4-6 months.
